Boral Roofing manufactures roof tile products that have been green for decades in the U.S. and for generations through our European lineage. As a leader in the Green Building movement, Boral Roofing is committed to using naturally available materials which mitigates the negative impact to the environment and emphasizes conservation and energy efficiency. Boral Roofing's Clay and Concreteroof tile is inherently sustainable. The durable lifecycle of Boral Roofing products - from beginning to end - meets the needs of the present without compromising those of the future.
Boral Roofing is committed to reducing the total amount of greenhouse gases produced - from the environmentally conscious manufacture of the product; to the plant to market transport radius; to the ultimate re-use and recyclability - thereby minimizing our carbon footprint. While on the roof, concrete tile reabsorbs up to 20 percent of carbon dioxide emissions and energy efficient installation techniques minimize heating and cooling costs.
Manufacturing Facilities Nationwide
Boral Roofing's 12 plants across the United States are strategically located to provide quick service to local markets. This manufacturing diversification also reduces our carbon footprint by reducing the transportation distance necessary to deliver raw materials to our production facilities and finished product to customers.
Throughout the manufacturing process, Boral Roofing adheres to best practices pertaining to production and environmental responsibility. Our products are made locally to service regional customers - reducing transportation costs and emissions.
We reduce the use of cement consumption by using post-industrial materials such as blast furnace slag and fly ash, preventing potentially harmful pollutants from reaching local ecosystems. Processed water is recycled for reuse in the manufacturing process and tile may be crushed and reintroduced into the manufacturing process as well as for use in construction projects.
